Overview: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives: The Importance of Story in the Aging Process
Life stories are the threads that give shape to our lives, weaving a fabric that brings us our sense of identity and uniquenese in the world. Encouraging stories from others gives you a window into who they really are, where they came from, the events that shaped them, and what's been most important in their lives. Karen will focus on the benefits of memory sharing and the part it plays in healthy aging, with applicaitons for caregivers and anyone wishing to know more about someone important in his or her life. She will include suggestions on how to facilitate this process. Karen is the founder of Life Legacy Writing and Coaching, a workshop leader and presenter in the Valley, and the author of several articles as well as her own Life Legacy Letter.
